Paint Warriors

  Welcome back for this week's results! Today, I have a cluster of 3d printed eggs that I plan on using as objective markers for Warhammer 40k and Necromunda. The model is Alien Eggs v1  by Dani Amengual ; thank you Dani, for this amazing design that you've shared with the world! Let's start with a recap of the paints used in this challenge. As always, the paints used in this challenge are coded to Citadel Paints, but you can use whatever paints you have on hand that closely match. 🔵 Macragge Blue (B) 🟣 Genestealer Purple (L) 🟢 Warboss Green (L) 🦴 Morghast Bone (B) 🌸 Emperor's Children (L) 1. First, I started off with an all-over base coat of Macragge Blue . 2. Second, I dry brushed the whole model with Genestealer Purple , leaving the Macragge Blue in the recesses of the model. 3. Today I have a bit of a change up, instead of randomizing my colors, I picked out these to paint some object markers that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Welcome back to  Paint Warriors ! This week’s challenge is complete, and I’m going to be the first to admit that I think I could have done better on this one. For this round, I chose to paint a  Ash Wastes Nomand —I had a great time painting one of these guys before with the Thunderhawk Blue, but I'll explain where I think things could have gone a bit better and why experimenting like this is important. The color palette for the challenge consisted of the following five paints: ⚫  Abaddon Black (Base) 🔵  Thunderhawk Blue (Layer) 🔴  Evil Suns Scarlet (Layer) 🟡  Yriel Yellow (Layer) 🟢  Orruk Flesh (Base) 1. I started this with an all-over basecoat of Abaddon Black . As I've learned from previous challenges, you can start building layers on top of rich, dark colors to develop some really nice shadows on the model. 2. This week, we see the return of a color I've been waiting to revisit, Thunderhawk Blue ! I first used it at the launch of my Instagram on my first Ash Waste Nomad model, which seems only fitting for that fighter to get a buddy to watch their back. Welcome back to Paint Warriors ! This week’s challenge is complete, and I’m excited to share the results. For this round, I chose to paint a Stormcast Eternals Praetor —a model that immediately brought to mind the displays I used to see walking into a Games Workshop during 3rd Edition. Picture those iconic showdowns between the resolute Stormcast and the fierce Orruk Warclans. The color palette for the challenge consisted of the following five paints: 🟤 Mournfang Brown (Base) 🟡 Liberator Gold (Metallic) 🔵 Altdorf Guard Blue (Layer) 🔴 Emperor's Children (Layer) ⚪ Corax White (Base) Here’s how I approached the model step by step: Base Coat – Mournfang Brown I started with a full base coat of Mournfang Brown. It's a great foundational color—rich and earthy—with a lot of versatility for layering and creating smooth gradients. Dry Brush – Liberator Gold Next, I dry-brushed Liberator Gold directly over the brown. This created a warm, aged gold effect that...

Right from the start, I thought this was a great palette for a Stormcast Eternal I've been slacking on. I know I can base with the Mournfang Brown (B) and dry brush the Liberator Gold (M) over it for a nice effect, and then it's just a matter of incorporating the other colors.
