Weekly Challenge #6 - Complete

 
Welcome back for this week's results! Today, I have a cluster of 3d printed eggs that I plan on using as objective markers for Warhammer 40k and Necromunda. The model is Alien Eggs v1 by Dani Amengual; thank you Dani, for this amazing design that you've shared with the world!



Let's start with a recap of the paints used in this challenge. As always, the paints used in this challenge are coded to Citadel Paints, but you can use whatever paints you have on hand that closely match.


🔵 Macragge Blue (B)
🟣 Genestealer Purple (L)
🟢 Warboss Green (L)
🦴 Morghast Bone (B)
🌸 Emperor's Children (L)

1. First, I started off with an all-over base coat of Macragge Blue.

2. Second, I dry brushed the whole model with Genestealer Purple, leaving the Macragge Blue in the recesses of the model.

3. Next, I painted the eggs with Warboss Green to give them that alien vibe.

4. Afterwards, I painted the eggs with Morghast Bone, but I left most of the green visible.

5. Lastly, I painted the select areas of the tendrils/roots with the Emperor's Children.

It may not seem like much, but I repeated each step of this process six times, and now I have some super thematic objective markers for my home games.

Welcome back to Paint Warriors — the weekly challenge where I roll the dice on a random 5-color palette and see where creativity takes us. The rules are simple: Keep it fun. This challenge is all about enjoying the hobby, getting neglected minis painted, and experimenting without stress. Stick to the palette. Each week includes five paints. You can only use those specific paints or close matches. Mixing and thinning is totally fair game! This week’s palette opens up some really nice blending potential. Thunderhawk Blue and Abaddon Black in particular are perfect for creating smooth, moody gradients—and I can already see some dramatic effects coming together. I felt a strong pull towards a specific model in my Ash Wastes Nomands force for Necromunda for this palette. Paint Warriors - Weekly Challenge #1 - Completed

Welcome to Paint Warriors, where I set a random color palette challenge every week to see where we end up. The rules are simple: 1. Never forget that this is for fun, to paint models in my collection that I've neglected, and not to be taken so seriously that it induces stress. 2. The palettes are made up of five paints. Only those paints or a similar hue may be used. They can be mixed or watered down. This week's palette reminds me of spring with how it leans on warmer colors. When I first saw this challenge, I saw the greens and the yellow and wondered if I could do a non-metallic metal with those three colors. Warning, I do not have much experience with NMM, but the weekly challenge is about trying new things and growing as an artist, so I continued with the project.
